Things you can do to minimise the risk. 

• Follow company guidelines for dealing with a dissatisfied customer.
• Follow company guidelines for dealing with a theft.
• Open the cash drawer only when necessary.
• Always count cash in a secure room.
• When going to the bank, always tell someone when you expect to return.
• Ask your employer to improve visibility in the cash register area.
• Ask your employer to reduce background noise.
